Iulius Iullus : ウィキペディア英語版
Iulius Iullus
Iulius Iullus was the name of a branch of the ''gens Iulia'' in ancient Rome. The Iullus or Jullus branch was older than the more famous branch of Julii Caesares, who may have been an offshoot.〔Ernst Badian, "From the Iulii to Caesar," in ''A Companion to Julius Caesar'' (Blackwell, 2009), pp. 13–14.〕 Iulii Iulli include:
*Lucius Julius Jullus, found more often as Lucius Iulius Iullus, was Magister Equitum in 431 BC,〔Livy 4.26.11 and 27.1; Diodorus Siculus 12.64.1–3; T.R.S. Broughton, ''The Magistrates of the Roman Republic'' (American Philological Association, 1951, 1986), vol. 1, p. 63.〕 and consul in 430.〔Livy 4.30.1; Diodorus 12.72.1; Broughton, ''MRR1'', p. 64.〕 Cicero has the ''praenomen'' as Gaius.〔Cicero, ''De re publica'' 2.60; Broughton, ''MRR1'', p. 64.〕 He and his consular colleague Papirius Crassus granted an eight-year truce to the Aequi,〔Livy 4.30.1–2; Broughton, ''MRR1'', p. 64.〕 and passed legislation that allowed fines to be paid in cash ''(pecunia)'' instead of livestock ''(pecudes)''.〔Cicero, ''De re publica'' 2.60; Livy 4.30.3; Broughton, ''MRR1'', p. 64.〕
* several men named Gaius Iulius Iullus.
